And we are off!

This year we are starting off with drawing and sketching.  The 6th grade is exploring contour lines, the 5th grade is learning to use view finders and 2-4th is exploring lines and textures.  As always we are focusing on different artists in each grade, the 2nd grade is starting their exploration of artist Vincent van Gogh.
Contour line drawing
Above are a few of the examples of contour line drawing, the 6th grade used these examples to gain an understanding of how to draw with this technique.

This is a print from Cape Dorist, the 4th grade is carefully observing these owl prints and sketching their own artwork based on their observations.  When students are done sketching the outside of their owls they will than add line designs to the inside to create a unique artwork of their own.
