Straw sculptures
All this week and last the art classes have been making clay, clay, clay. We are busy learning what it is made of and how to use the vocabulary of a potter. The kids have been glazing the last few days and when they are done a favorite pastime seems to be a little straw sculpture. The straws connect with chenille stems and can be made into anything, animals, wearable art, abstract sculptures, today Enrique made two constellations and showed us how they rotate in the sky, impressive! The pictures in today's post are courtesy of Mrs. Farrell's 3rd grade.
