Mr. Cave's 5th graders have been studying Op Art. We discussed what an optical illusion is and we looked at the art of the famous M.C Escher. There was much discussion of how art and math fit together in life and how M.C Escher used the two in his artwork. The students designed their own tessellations based on their viewing of Escher's artwork and created some really beautiful master pieces.
