Mrs. Roux's 4th graders have been experimenting with silkscreens.  We stared off observing the Japanese art of woodblock prints and talked about cranes.  The kids looked at pictures of cranes and drew their own and cut them out.  During our second class we used the crane stencils with the silkscreen to create some beautiful prints.  Gold and black were added to the prints for detail and we will add Chops next time.  Overall it was a great time, sure, our hands are stained red and the room has seen better days but it was worth it.
