Romare Bearden

Today Mr. Goetz's 5th grade artists learned about one of my favorite artists, Romare Beardon.  Mr. Beardon created great collages with images from photographs and newspapers. Beardon created collages with his friends images and with those of strangers.  This great artist became a leader in the Harlem Renaissance movement and is a wonderful man for students to learn about the connections between music, art and civil rights.
